We are currently seeking a talented Motion Graphics Designer to add to our staff.

This person will work closely with the Creative Director in establishing concept ideas during pre-production. He/she will work closely with the 3D team during production to incorporate motion graphics into the final animation.

Job Description and Responsibilities

• Participate in concept development and design under the direction of Creative Director
• Work in the following software: After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premier
• Ability to use 3D studio max is a big plus
• Assist with production process from pre-production through delivery
• Have a good understanding of 3D production and how it is incorporated into motion graphics

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 to 3 years experience with Motion Graphics using Adobe After Effects
• A solid demo reel with shot breakdown
• Entry Level artists may be considered dependant upon a solid demo reel and previous work experience

Desired Skills:

• Familiarity with 3D as well as 2D applications. Familiarity with Studio Max is a big plus
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Ability to work well with management and other art staff
• Ability to take a project from start to finish
• Dedicated problem solver, "can do attitude" Do what's needed to get the job done

We are currently seeking a talented Director of Production to add to our staff.

This position will be working with 3D Designers and studio talent to manage the workflow of the Design Studio.

Studio Workflow

• Manage Client Fires: deadlines, client expectations shifting, delays, evolving timelines, assisting Production Managers
• Schedule and Prioritize work
• Manage the production process and coordinate with Producers & Managers
• Establish schedules with team and ensure deadlines are being met
• Establish budgets with Sales Team giving insight on production budgets
• Responsible for ensuring production budgets are being met by Producers and Managers 
• Facilitate the informational flow within studio and customers
• Managing a few large projects on a daily basis
• Assisting Sales force in closing large scale projects
• Responsible for Continuing the High Quality of Heartwood Studios’ productions

Personnel Management

• Fire fight production challenges
• Enforce production processes
• Perform employee reviews of the Production Managers, Artists, and Producers
• Maintain appropriate staffing levels within the studio
• Determine appropriate compensation levels for production staff
• Manage outside overseas relationships
• Manage Subcontractor commitments and relationships

Requirements:

• College Graduate
• 7+ years experience in the creative services industry
• Ability to Fire Fight Clients during the worst times
• Strong management skills
• Deep understanding of the production process
• 3D Background

We are currently seeking a dynamic individual with 3D experience to join our production team.

The 3D artist will work closely with the Creative Director in establishing concept ideas during pre-production. He/she will work closely with the 2D team during production to incorporate 3D animations into the final commercial. Ideal candidate is a solid generalist (able to work in several areas of max). However, if you have certain skill sets we will be able to incorporate those into production.

• A summer intern position is available at our headquarters in San Ramon, CA. Ideally, we are looking for a college student at the sophomore level or above as the position is designed to give students the opportunity to learn our business from all aspects, sales, administration and production. This position will aid in production as well as performing general office duties and errands.
